The Lectures on Tap Residency was created to spotlight the thinkers shaping the conversations of our time.
Through this program, a select group of experts return to the mic month after month, fine-tuning and sharing the ideas, research, and stories that define their work.
Lectures on Tap has grown into a nationwide community of curious minds gathering in bars to explore fascinating ideas — but it’s the leaders in their fields who step up to the mic that make the experience linger long after last call.
Lectures on Tap has hosted astronauts, Ivy League professors, leading researchers, and extraordinary storytellers — people at the forefront of their fields who believe knowledge should live beyond the classroom.
Our Resident Speakers represent a special group within that community.
Through our residency program, these experts return to the stage month after month, fine-tuning and diving deeper into the ideas that define their work and help shape the intellectual culture of their city.
Meet the thinkers who help turn ordinary nights out into something unforgettable.
Each Lectures on Tap city has its own residency cohort — a group of experts returning to the stage throughout the season to share the ideas that define their work.

Every Resident Speaker starts the same way — by stepping up to the mic.
Prospective speakers first apply to present a talk. After delivering their lecture, we look closely at audience feedback, engagement, and overall impact. From there, a select group of speakers are invited to return as either a repeating or a resident speaker in future cohort.
Residencies aren’t applied for directly — they’re yearned for through an exceptional talk that leave the audience wanting more.

This is where Lectures on Tap began—right in the heart of the city that never stops thinking. From packed bars in Brooklyn to cozy spots in Manhattan, our talks cover everything from urban history to science, philosophy, and pop culture.
